Regional Center services
Traditional services, done bttr.
Traditional services are the supports your regional center purchases directly from a vendored agency like bttr. Your service coordinator writes the need into your IPP, authorizes the hours, and the regional center pays the agency. You do not manage a budget or staff; you choose the provider and we handle the rest.
bttr Living is vendored with Regional Center of the East Bay and Golden Gate Regional Center. Below are the services we deliver the traditional way, what each one means according to the Department of Developmental Services, and how we have built it.
Independent Living Services
What DDS says it is
One to one instruction that helps an adult learn the skills to live on their own terms: money, meals, getting around, safety, appointments, and self advocacy. Delivered at home and in the community, with hours authorized in the IPP.
Coordinated Family Support
What DDS says it is
A newer DDS service for adults 18 and older living in the family home. A dedicated professional helps the family coordinate services, navigate benefits and systems, build routines, and plan ahead, so the person can keep living at home with less stress on everyone.
ASL Training and Support
What DDS says it is
Instruction and support in American Sign Language for Deaf and hard of hearing participants, and for the family and support staff around them, so communication works at home, in the community, and across every service.
Supported Living Services
What DDS says it is
Ongoing, hands on support for an adult living in a home they own or rent, not a licensed facility. Built around daily life: routines, health, safety, household, and community, at whatever intensity is needed, up to around the clock.
